Block reference / Workflow

Open profile

Launch profiles that are closed, as their Open button does.

Only inWarpX Browser

Open profile launches the profiles you list, or every profile in a group, the way each one's Open button on the Profiles page does. One that is already open is left as it is. Use it to have a set of accounts ready for someone to work in by hand; to run a workflow in other profiles, use Run on profiles, which opens them itself.

The Open profile block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

One output. The variable holds one entry per profile: profileId, profileName, opened (false when it was already open) and message. The log shows 5 opened · 1 already open.

Where Open profile sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add a List profiles block with Group Shopee sellers, Tags needs-reply and State Closed.
  2. Add an Open profile block with Profiles These profiles, {{variables.profiles}}, and Open as A window.
  3. Add a Delay block of 1800000 milliseconds — half an hour for your team to answer messages in those windows.
  4. Add a Close profile block on These profiles {{variables.profiles}}.
  5. Add an Update profile block on the same list that removes the tag needs-reply.

Good to know

  • Your plan's limit on browsers open at once applies. When a launch is refused, the block fails there: the profiles before it are open, the ones after it are not.
  • The workflow keeps running in its own profile. Opening another profile does not move the workflow's tabs into it — blocks like New tab still act on the running profile.
  • A workflow that was not edited on this computer (installed from the Appstore or a file) asks you to allow this block before its first run, in a window that lists what it will do. Blocks you set up in the editor are approved as you edit them, so your own workflows never ask; changing the block's settings asks again.
  • A profile, group or proxy is found by its id, or else by its name ignoring case. When two have the same name the block fails with "2 records are named … — use the id instead"; one that is not there fails with "No profile …".
  • Needs the WarpX Browser desktop app, where the profiles are. Elsewhere the block is not in the block list, and a workflow that has it fails with "Profile and group blocks need the WarpX desktop app".
  • On an Appstore listing, a workflow with this block shows Lists, creates, opens, closes and changes your profiles, their groups and proxies.
