Block reference / Workflow

Close profile

Close profiles that are open — never the one running the workflow.

Only inWarpX Browser

Close profile closes the profiles you list, or every profile in a group, as their Close button on the Profiles page does. One that is already closed is left as it is. It never closes the profile running the workflow: that would end the run in the middle of a block.

The Close profile block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Settings

Description

A note shown on the block in the canvas.

ExampleClose everything at night
Profiles

These profiles (the default) or Every profile in a group.

ExampleThese profiles
These profileswhen Profiles is These profiles

Ids or names separated by commas or lines, or a variable holding what List profiles found.

Example{{variables.profiles}}
Every profile in a groupwhen Profiles is Every profile in a group

The group whose profiles to close, picked or typed.

ExampleTikTok VN (20)
Assign to variable

Off by default.

ExampleUnchecked
Variable namewhen Assign to variable is on

The variable that gets what was done.

Exampleclosed

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

One output. The variable holds one entry per profile: profileId, profileName, closed (false when it was already closed) and message. The log shows 8 closed · 12 already closed.

Example: Close the group's open profiles at the end of the day

  1. Start
  2. List profiles
  3. Close profile
Where Close profile sits in the example workflow.
  1. Make a workflow that runs in a profile outside the group, such as one named Control, and schedule it for 23:00 on the Schedule page.
  2. Add a List profiles block with Group TikTok VN and State Open.
  3. Add a Close profile block with Profiles These profiles and {{variables.profiles}}.
  4. Run it: every open profile in TikTok VN closes; the Control profile running the workflow stays open.

Good to know

  • If the list or group includes the profile running the workflow, the whole block fails with "Close profile cannot close the profile this workflow is running in" and nothing is closed. Run the workflow in a profile outside the group.
  • A workflow that was not edited on this computer (installed from the Appstore or a file) asks you to allow this block before its first run, in a window that lists what it will do. Blocks you set up in the editor are approved as you edit them, so your own workflows never ask; changing the block's settings asks again.
  • A profile, group or proxy is found by its id, or else by its name ignoring case. When two have the same name the block fails with "2 records are named … — use the id instead"; one that is not there fails with "No profile …".
  • Needs the WarpX Browser desktop app, where the profiles are. Elsewhere the block is not in the block list, and a workflow that has it fails with "Profile and group blocks need the WarpX desktop app".
  • On an Appstore listing, a workflow with this block shows Lists, creates, opens, closes and changes your profiles, their groups and proxies.
