Block settings

What every block has besides its own fields: a description, Disable block and what to do on an error.

Every block has a Description at the top of its fields. It is shown on the block, and beside the block's line in the run log, so a name like Log in tells you which Click element failed.

Hover a block to see its menu. Enable/Disable block turns it off without removing it: a disabled block is passed over and the run continues along its output. The Start block cannot be disabled.

The gear in the same menu opens Block settings, with the tabs General, On error and Lines. General has Block execution timeout (millisecond). Lines sets the label and colour of the connections leaving the block. Some blocks, such as Conditions and Delay, have no On error tab.

On error decides what happens when the block fails. Switch on Enable, then choose what to do. Throw error fails the block, with your own Error message if you give one. Continue flow carries on along the normal output. Execute fallback adds a second output to the block and carries on along that, so you can connect a recovery path. Execute fallback is not offered inside a blocks group.

Retry action tries the block again before any of that. Times is how many retries, and Interval is how many seconds to wait before each. Insert data writes values to table columns or variables when the error happens, for example to record which row failed.

When a failure is not handled here, the workflow's own Settings decide under On workflow error: Stop workflow, Keep running or Restart workflow.

Many blocks that act on the page also have Delay time (ms) among their fields: a pause after the block finishes, before the next block starts.

Every phone block in WarpX Phone has the same pause, labelled Delay (ms).

Description

A note on what this block is for, shown on the block and in the run log.

ExampleLog in
Block execution timeout (millisecond)

The longest the block may run before it fails. 0 means no limit.

Turns on the rules in the On error tab.

ExampleChecked
Retry actionwhen Enable is on

How many times to retry.

Example3
Intervalwhen Retry action is on

Seconds to wait before each retry.

Example2
On errorwhen Enable is on

The menu in the On error tab: Throw error, Continue flow or Execute fallback.

ExampleExecute fallback

Delay time (ms)

A pause after the block finishes. One number waits that many milliseconds. Two numbers separated by a comma wait a random time between them on every run.
