Block reference / General

Delay

Pauses the run for a set number of milliseconds before the next block.

In both appsWarpX BrowserWarpX Phone

Use Delay when a page needs time to settle before the next step, or when you want a pause between actions so a run does not move at machine speed. The run waits for the time you set, then carries on to the next block.

The Delay block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Description

A note shown under the block's name on the canvas. It has no effect on the run.

Delay time (millisecond)

How long to wait, in milliseconds. 2500 is two and a half seconds. You can also use a reference such as {{variables.pauseMs}}.

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Nothing. The block leaves by its single output once the time is up.

Example: Wait for search results before clicking the first one

  1. Start
  2. Open URL
  3. Delay
  4. Click element
Where Delay sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add an Open URL block that opens the search page.
  2. Drag a Delay block after it and double-click it.
  3. Set Delay time (millisecond) to 2500.
  4. Connect it to a Click element block that clicks the first result.
  5. Click Execute to run the workflow on the selected profile.

Good to know

  • The field takes a single whole number. An empty value, 0, or anything that is not a number, such as 1000,3000, waits 500 milliseconds instead.
  • For a random pause, set a variable with the Random block and use it here, for example {{variables.pauseMs}}.
  • A fixed delay is a guess. When you are waiting for something on the page, a block's own wait-for-selector option is usually more reliable.
