Block reference / UI Interaction

Press Recents

Open the recent apps, as the ☰ or ||| button beside Home does.

Only inWarpX Phone

Press Recents opens the list of recent apps: the button beside Home that many people call menu, drawn ☰ or ||| on a Samsung. Use it to switch to another app by hand-like steps, or before clearing apps. To close every app at once, Close all apps is quicker.

Press Recents opens the list of recent apps over the shop.
The Press Recents block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Delay (ms)

A pause after the block finishes, before the next block starts. Write one number such as 1000, or a range such as 1000,3000 for a random pause in that range on each run.

Example1000

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Hands on nothing. Leaves by its single output.

Example: Switch back to the previous app

  1. Start
  2. Press Recents
  3. Touch
Where Press Recents sits in the example workflow.
  1. Pick the phone in the editor's toolbar.
  2. Add a Press Recents block with Delay (ms) 1000, so the list has opened.
  3. Add a Touch block with Target on Element, and use Inspect to pick the previous app's card in the list.
  4. Press Run: the recent apps open and the previous app comes back to the front.

Good to know

  • The block's id is android-menu, from when it was called Press Menu and sent the old Menu key, which Android 10 and later apps all but ignore. It presses Recents now; the old Menu key is still menu in Press key.
  • With the WarpX agent installed, Recents is opened through it; without it, through Android's input keyevent.
