Block reference / App Management

Close all apps

Stop every app in Recents and every installed app still running, except those you keep.

Only inWarpX Phone

Close all apps does what Clear all on the Recents screen does, and more: it force-stops every app Recents holds and every app you installed that is still running in the background, then presses Home. Use it at the start of a run so each run begins on a quiet phone, or at the end to leave it that way.

Close all apps stops Shopee, TikTok and Chrome, leaves Zalo running, and goes back to the home screen.
The Close all apps block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Settings

Keep running

Apps to leave running, by package. Each one you pick becomes a chip, and the field suggests packages as you type, as a Package field does. Leave it empty to close everything.

Examplecom.zing.zalo, org.telegram.messenger
Delay (ms)

A pause after the block finishes, before the next block starts. Write one number such as 1000, or a range such as 1000,3000 to pick a random pause in that range on each run.

Example0

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Hands on the list of packages it stopped, as {{prevBlockData}}, for example ["com.shopee.vn","com.android.chrome"]. Leaves by its single output.

Example: Start each run on a quiet phone, keeping Zalo

  1. Start
  2. Close all apps
  3. Start app
Where Close all apps sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add a Close all apps block right after Start.
  2. In Keep running, type zalo and pick Zalo (com.zing.zalo), so its messages keep arriving.
  3. Add a Start app block for the app the run is about, for example com.shopee.vn.
  4. Run the workflow; the phone's other apps are stopped and it starts from the home screen.

Good to know

  • The home screen, the keyboard, Android's own system interface and the WarpX agent always keep running, whatever Keep running says.
  • Built-in apps are stopped only when they are in Recents; an installed app is stopped whether or not it is in Recents.
  • Stopped apps keep their data and stay signed in.
  • There is no Device field: the block acts on the run's phone — the one picked in the editor's toolbar, or each phone ticked for Run automation in the Control Center or named in an API run.
