Block reference / UI Interaction

Press key

Press one of the phone's keys: Enter, Delete, Volume, Power and the rest.

Only inWarpX Phone

Press key sends a key press to the phone, as if a hardware or keyboard key were pressed. Use it for Enter after typing a search, Delete to remove a character, or the volume and power keys. Back, Home and Recents have blocks of their own, Press Back, Press Home and Press Recents, so a workflow reads at a glance.

Press key presses Enter, and the shop searches for what was typed.
The Press key block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Delay (ms)

A pause after the block finishes, before the next block starts. Write one number such as 1000, or a range such as 1000,3000 for a random pause in that range on each run.

Example1000

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Hands on nothing. Leaves by its single output.

  4. Press key
Where Press key sits in the example workflow.
  1. Pick the phone in the editor's toolbar and open the shop app's search screen.
  2. Add a Type text block on the search box, with the text running shoes.
  3. Add a Press key block and set Key to enter.
  4. Set Delay (ms) to 1000 so the results have time to load, then press Run.

Good to know

  • No agent is needed: keys go through Android's input keyevent. With the WarpX agent installed, back, home and appSwitch are pressed through it instead.
  • menu is the old Menu key, which apps on Android 10 and later mostly ignore. The button people call menu, beside Home, is Recents: appSwitch, or Press Recents.
  • power turns the screen off when it is on and on when it is off; wakeUp and sleep only ever turn it on or off.
  • enter submits only where the app listens for it, as most search boxes do. Some apps want their own search button tapped instead.
