Rotate proxy

Call a proxy's change-IP link and wait until the profile's IP is really new.

Only inWarpX Browser

Rotating, 4G and residential proxy providers give you a link that changes the proxy's IP when it is called. Rotate proxy calls that link, waits, and then checks the profile's IP until it is different from before. Put it between accounts that share a proxy, so each one signs in from a fresh address.

The Rotate proxy block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Settings

Description

A note shown on the block in the canvas.

ExampleNew 4G IP
Change-IP link

The link your provider gives for a new IP. It must start with http:// or https:// and can hold references, such as {{variables.changeIpUrl}}. It is called from this computer, not through the proxy.

Examplehttps://proxy-provider.example/api/changeip?key=a1b2c3d4
Method

GET or POST, whichever your provider's documentation says.

ExampleGET
Wait after calling (seconds)

A pause after the link answers, while the modem or gateway reconnects.

Example5
Wait until the profile's IP has changed

Read the profile's IP before calling the link, then read it again every three seconds after the pause, until it is different.

ExampleChecked
Wait up to (seconds)when Wait until the profile's IP has changed is on

How long to keep checking before the block fails. The least is 5.

Example60
Assign to variable

Store the new IP in a variable.

ExampleChecked
Variable namewhen Assign to variable is ticked

The variable that receives it.

Exampleip

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Leaves by its only output with the new IP as text, in the variable and as {{prevBlockData}}. The log line reads like 203.0.113.7 → 198.51.100.24 (US). Without Wait until the profile's IP has changed the block does not read the IP, so the variable is empty; add Check IP after it if you need the address.

Example: A fresh 4G IP for each account in a list

  1. Start
  2. Loop data
  3. Rotate proxy
  4. Check IP
  5. Open URL
  6. Forms
  7. Loop breakpoint
Where Rotate proxy sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add a Loop data block over the accounts in the workflow's table, with Loop ID accounts.
  2. Add a Rotate proxy block with your provider's Change-IP link, Method GET, Wait after calling (seconds) 5, the box ticked and Wait up to (seconds) 60.
  3. Add a Check IP block, so the country and city of the new IP are in {{variables.ipInfo}}.
  4. Add an Open URL block with the site's login page and Forms blocks with {{loopData.accounts.email}} and {{loopData.accounts.password}}.
  5. Close the loop with a Loop breakpoint whose Loop ID is accounts.

Good to know

  • The IP is read over the profile's own proxy, so it is the address sites see. A profile with no proxy reads this computer's IP, which never changes, and the block fails when the time is up.
  • When the IP could not be read before the call, the first IP read afterwards counts as the new one.
  • The link has 60 seconds to answer. An answer that is not a success fails the block with the provider's message, such as The change-IP link answered 429: ....
  • If the IP is the same when time runs out, the block fails with The IP is still ... after 60s. Some providers hand back the same IP now and then; give the block an On error rule in its settings if that should not stop the run.
  • A locked automation from the Appstore may only call the hosts its listing declares. Any other link fails with "This locked automation may only send to ...".

  • Check IP — Look up the profile's public IP with its country, region, city, timezone and network.
  • Loop data — Run the blocks after it once for each row, number, list item or element.
  • Retry — Send the run back to try a part of the workflow again, a set number of times, then give up by its fallback.
