Block reference / Browser

Go back

Goes back one page in the tab the workflow is using, like the browser's back button.

Only inWarpX Browser

Go back does what the browser's back button does, in the tab the workflow is working in. The page really changes, and the block waits for the page it lands on to load before the next block runs. Use it to return to a list after reading one of its items, without saving the list's address. If the tab has no earlier page, it stays where it is.

Settings

This block has no settings of its own.

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Leaves by its only output. It writes nothing to the table or to variables. It fails with no-tab when the workflow has no tab yet. With no earlier page to go back to, it passes and the page stays as it is.

Example: Read each product on a results page

  1. Open URL
  2. Loop data
  3. Click element
  4. Get text
  5. Go back
  6. Loop breakpoint
Where Go back sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add Open URL with https://shop.example.com/search?q=lamp.
  2. Add Loop data with Loop ID products, Loop through set to Numbers, From number 1 and To number 10.
  3. Add Click element on .product-card:nth-of-type({{loopData.products}}) a to open one product.
  4. Add Get text on .price with Insert to table on.
  5. Add Go back. The tab returns to the results, and the block waits for them to load.
  6. Add a Loop breakpoint with Loop ID products, so the next pass opens the next product.

Good to know

  • The block has no settings of its own.
  • With no earlier page in the tab, the block passes and the page does not move. When that matters, check where you are with Element exists.
  • The page you return to may be loaded again. Content that appeared after it first opened, such as items added as you scrolled, may be gone. Marks that Loop elements put on the page's elements can be lost too, so loop over numbers or saved addresses with Loop data instead.
  • If the page takes longer than 30 seconds to load, the block fails.
