Block reference / Browser

Go forward

Goes forward one page in the tab the workflow is using, like the browser's forward button.

Only inWarpX Browser

Go forward does what the browser's forward button does, in the tab the workflow is working in. It only has somewhere to go after a Go back, or after the page itself went back. The page really changes, and the block waits for the page it lands on to load before the next block runs. If there is no later page, the tab stays where it is.

Settings

This block has no settings of its own.

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Leaves by its only output. It writes nothing to the table or to variables. It fails with no-tab when the workflow has no tab yet. With no later page to go to, it passes and the page stays as it is.

Example: Check the results, then return to the product

  1. Open URL
  2. Click element
  3. Go back
  4. Get text
  5. Go forward
  6. Get text
Where Go forward sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add Open URL with https://shop.example.com/search?q=lamp, then Click element on .product-card a to open the first product.
  2. Add Go back to return to the results, and Get text on .results-count to read how many results there are.
  3. Add Go forward. The tab returns to the product page and waits for it to load.
  4. Add Get text on .price to read the product's price.

Good to know

  • The block has no settings of its own.
  • Opening another page after going back, with Open URL or a click, clears the forward history, as in any browser. Go forward then has nowhere to go and leaves the page as it is.
  • If the page takes longer than 30 seconds to load, the block fails.
