Block reference / Data

Date & time

Get the date now, move a date by an amount, measure between two dates, or turn one into a timestamp.

In both appsWarpX BrowserWarpX Phone

Date & time works out dates for you: today's date in the format a form expects, the day a trial ends, how many hours since an account last posted, or a timestamp for an API. Every action can work in a timezone you name instead of the computer's own.

The Date & time block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Settings

Description

A note shown on the block in the canvas.

ExampleTrial end
Action

Format a date, Add to a date, Subtract from a date, Time between two dates, Timestamp (milliseconds) or Unix time (seconds).

ExampleAdd to a date
Datewhen Action is not Time between two dates

The date to work on. Empty means now. Write it year first, such as 2026-10-08 or 2026-10-08 14:30; a number of 9 to 13 digits is read as a timestamp, in seconds up to 10 digits and in milliseconds above.

Example{{variables.trialStart}}
Fromwhen Action is Time between two dates

The earlier date, written the same way. Empty means now.

Example{{variables.lastPost}}
Towhen Action is Time between two dates

The later date, written the same way. Empty means now.

Example2026-10-08 18:00
Amountwhen Action is Add to a date or Subtract from a date

How much to add or subtract. It can be a reference, such as {{variables.days}}.

Example14
Unitwhen Action is Add to a date, Subtract from a date or Time between two dates

Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months or Years: the unit of Amount, or of the answer for Time between two dates.

ExampleDays
Formatwhen Action is Format a date, Add to a date or Subtract from a date

How to write the result: YYYY year, MM month, DD day, HH hour, mm minute, ss second, so DD/MM/YYYY gives 22/10/2026. MMM gives the month's short name and dddd the weekday's name.

ExampleDD/MM/YYYY
Timezone (optional)

A timezone name such as Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh, Europe/Berlin or America/New_York. Empty uses the computer's own. Dates you type are read as times in this zone, and results are written in it. A reference works too, such as {{variables.ipInfo.timezone}} from Check IP.

ExampleAsia/Ho_Chi_Minh
Assign to variable

Store the result in a variable.

ExampleChecked
Variable namewhen Assign to variable is ticked

The variable that receives the result.

ExampletrialEnds

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

The result goes to the variable and on as {{prevBlockData}}: text in your Format for the first three actions; a number for the others. Time between two dates gives To minus From in the chosen unit, with up to three decimals, and a negative number when To is earlier.

Example: Record the day each account's 14-day trial ends

  1. Start
  2. Open URL
  3. Get text
  4. Date & time
  5. Insert data
Where Date & time sits in the example workflow.
  1. Add a Get text block on .trial-started, which shows 2026-10-08 09:00, with Assign to variable ticked and named trialStart.
  2. Add a Date & time block: Action Add to a date, Date {{variables.trialStart}}, Amount 14, Unit Days, Format DD/MM/YYYY, Timezone (optional) Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh.
  3. Tick Assign to variable and name it trialEnds. With this start date it holds 22/10/2026.
  4. Add an Insert data block with a Table row for the column trial_ends and the value {{variables.trialEnds}}.

On WarpX Phone

  • On WarpX Phone an empty Timezone (optional) is still this computer's zone, not the phone's. To work in the phone's, read it first with the phone's Get device property block, property persist.sys.timezone, into a variable, and write that variable here.

Good to know

  • Dates are read year first (2026-10-22 14:30) or day first (22/10/2026, 22-10-2026 14:30, 22.10.2026). A date like 01/02/2026 is the 1st of February, never the 2nd of January. Anything else fails with "…" is not a date.
  • A timezone name that does not exist fails the block with a message showing how to write one.
  • Adding months keeps the day where it can and otherwise uses the month's last day: 31 January plus one month is 28 February.
  • To match the profile's proxy rather than this computer, look the zone up with Check IP first and write {{variables.ipInfo.timezone}} in Timezone (optional).
