Notification
Shows a desktop notification from WarpX Browser with a title and a message.
In both apps
WarpX Browser
WarpX Phone
Use Notification to tell yourself that something happened during a run: results were saved, a check failed, a step needs your attention. WarpX Browser shows it as an ordinary notification on your computer, not inside the profile's browser. The run carries on straight away.
Settings
- Description
A note shown under the block's name on the canvas. It has no effect on the run.
ExampleSay the orders are saved- Title
The notification's heading. References such as
{{variables.shopName}}are filled in first. Left empty, the heading isWarpX.ExampleOrders saved- Message
The text under the title. References are filled in first.
ExampleSaved the orders for {{variables.shopName}}.- Icon URL (optional)
An
httporhttpsaddress of a picture to show as the notification's icon. The profile's browser fetches it, through the profile's proxy. If the picture cannot be loaded, the notification is shown without it and the block still succeeds.Examplehttps://example.com/icon.png
Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.
What it hands on
Nothing. The block leaves by its single output as soon as the notification is sent. On a system that cannot show notifications, it fails instead.
Example: Get told when a run has saved its results
- Start
- Open URL
- Get text
- Google Sheets
- Notification
- In the Start block, add an Input (string) parameter named
shopName. - After the blocks that collect the orders, add a Google Sheets block that writes them to your sheet.
- Connect a Notification block after it and double-click it.
- Set Title to
Orders savedand Message toSaved the orders for {{variables.shopName}}. - Run the workflow. The notification appears on your desktop once the rows are written.
On WarpX Phone
- On WarpX Phone the notification still shows on this computer, not on the phone. Icon URL is fetched by a profile's browser, which a phone run does not have, so the notification is shown without the picture.
Good to know
- On a system that cannot show notifications at all, the block fails with an error that says "This system does not show notifications". Use the block's error settings if the run should carry on.
- If your system can show notifications but they are turned off for WarpX Browser in its settings, nothing appears and the block still reports success. The app cannot see that setting.
- In a run over many profiles, each profile that reaches this block shows its own notification. Put a profile-specific reference in the message if you need to tell them apart.
- There is no Image URL field: the notifications WarpX Browser shows have no room for a large image. An older workflow that has one set shows its notification without the image.
