Phone identity

Put the phone on a proxy, and set its location, time zone and language, all at once.

Only inWarpX Phone

Phone identity sets where the phone appears to be: the proxy every app's traffic leaves through, and the location, time zone and language that go with it. It can match the last three to the proxy's address, so they cannot disagree with the IP apps see, or take them as you write them. Everything is saved for the phone and put on it at once, which also reconnects the proxy; on a rotating proxy that usually means a new IP.

Phone identity puts the phone on its proxy through the agent's VPN, and its time zone and language follow the proxy's address.
The Phone identity block's settings, filled in as in the example below.

Proxy

Keep the phone's proxy leaves it as saved. Use a proxy puts the phone on the proxy named below. No proxy — the phone's own connection takes it off its proxy.

ExampleUse a proxy
Proxy name or idwhen Proxy is Use a proxy

The unlabelled box under Proxy: a proxy's name or id from the Proxies page. It can be a reference, such as {{loopData.proxy}}, to give each run its own. SOCKS5, HTTP and HTTPS proxies work; SOCKS4 cannot carry a phone's traffic.

ExampleVN-Residential-01
Match the proxy's address: location, time zone and languagewhen Proxy is Use a proxy

Looks up where the proxy's address is and sets the phone's location, time zone and language from it. The location is moved 0.3 to 2.5 km from the city centre, by a distance and direction fixed for each phone, so phones on one proxy do not stand on the same spot.

ExampleChecked
Latitudewhen Match the proxy's address is off, or Proxy is not Use a proxy

The location's latitude, from -90 to 90. Fill in Longitude with it; one without the other fails.

Example10.7769
Longitudewhen Match the proxy's address is off, or Proxy is not Use a proxy

The location's longitude, from -180 to 180.

Example106.7009
Time zonewhen Match the proxy's address is off, or Proxy is not Use a proxy

A time zone name such as Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh or Europe/Berlin. The phone's automatic time zone is switched off so it stays.

ExampleAsia/Ho_Chi_Minh
Languagewhen Match the proxy's address is off, or Proxy is not Use a proxy

The phone's languages, most preferred first, separated by commas, such as vi-VN,en-US. An empty location, time zone or language keeps what the phone has.

Examplevi-VN,en-US
Delay (ms)

A wait after the block finishes, before the next one starts. One number such as 1000, or a range such as 1000,3000 for a random wait in that range on each run.

Example0

Every block also has the shared block settings — a description, Disable block and what to do on an error. Fields that take text accept data from earlier blocks.

What it hands on

Hands on the report of what went on the phone as {{prevBlockData}}: proxy, location, timezone, locale and, when matching, match, each with ok and a message when it failed. The block fails, naming each part, when a part it set did not go on; with nothing filled in, when any part did not.

Example: Put a phone on a Vietnamese proxy before warming an account

  1. Start
  2. Phone identity
  3. Check network
  4. Start app
Where Phone identity sits in the example workflow.
  1. Pick the phone in the toolbar's phone menu. It needs the WarpX agent, from Install agent on the Devices page.
  2. Add a Phone identity block. Set Proxy to Use a proxy, type VN-Residential-01 in the box, and keep Match the proxy's address ticked.
  3. Add a Check network block with Save the public IP to a variable set to publicIp.
  4. Add a Start app block for the app to warm up.
  5. Click Run. The phone shows a VPN key icon, its clock moves to Vietnam's time and its language to Vietnamese.
  6. Open Logs: publicIp holds the proxy's address.

Good to know

  • The proxy runs as a VPN in the WarpX agent, so every app's traffic goes through it, DNS included. The proxy and location need the agent installed; the language needs agent version 5 or later and fails with AGENT_OUTDATED before that.
  • The location is set as Android's test location. An app that checks for one can tell.
  • The identity is saved for the phone. If its VPN goes down while it is online, after a restart or switched off on the phone, WarpX Phone puts it back on the proxy within about two minutes.
  • With Proxy on keep and every box empty, the block puts the saved identity on again and reconnects the proxy. On a phone that has never had an identity, it fails with this phone has no identity to apply yet.
  • Writing a location, time zone or language by hand stops the phone following its proxy's address on later runs.
  • The time zone is set without root on Android 9 to 14 and checked afterwards; a phone that does not take it fails with TIMEZONE_FAILED.
  • When Proxy is Use a proxy or No proxy, WarpX Phone asks before a run of a workflow somebody else made, since every app's traffic goes through the proxy. Keeping the proxy and changing only the location, time zone or language does not ask, and neither do workflows you set up in your own editor.
