Table and variables

Where a run keeps what it collects, and how blocks write to it and read it back.

A workflow keeps what it collects in two places. The table holds rows, like a spreadsheet. Variables hold single named values or lists.

Open the table with Table in the editor's toolbar. Type a Column name and press Add. Give each column a Data type: Any, Text, Number, Boolean or Array. Number keeps only the digits, so $1,299.00 becomes 129900; use Any or Text for prices.

Blocks that read something from the page offer Insert to table. Tick it and choose the column under Select column. Each value goes into the next empty row of that column, and each column fills on its own, so the third value written to each column makes up row three. A block that returns several values, with Multiple ticked, writes one row per value, unless the column's type is Array.

Add extra row writes a second, fixed value into another column each time the block writes, such as the name of the site the row came from.

A block with nothing chosen under Select column writes to the default column, column. The workflow's Settings can rename it with Default column name, or turn it off with Insert into the default column.

The table starts empty on every run. To keep rows between runs, press Connect to a storage table in the table panel. The rows then collect in that table under Databases → Tables, where you can read them.

Blocks that produce a value also offer Assign to variable. Give it a Variable name and later blocks read it as {{variables.name}}. Start the name with $push:, as in $push:emails, to add each value to a list instead of replacing it. Start it with $$, as in $$lastOrderId, to keep it in Databases → Variables, where it lasts between runs and every workflow can read it as {{variables.$$lastOrderId}}.

To see what a run collected, open its log with Logs in the editor's toolbar or on the Logs page. Pick a block's line: Log data shows the variables, loop data and Google Sheets rows as they were when that block ran. The table's rows are not in the log. Connect a storage table, or send the rows on with Google Sheets, BigQuery or HTTP request.

Table and variables, filled in.
Insert to table

Writes the block's result into the workflow's table.

ExampleChecked
Select columnwhen Insert to table is ticked

The column the result goes into.

Exampleprice
Add extra rowwhen Insert to table is ticked

Also writes a fixed value into another column each time.

ExampleChecked
Valuewhen Add extra row is ticked

The value of the extra row. Pick its column in the Select column menu under it.

ExampleShop A
Assign to variable

Stores the block's result in a variable.

ExampleChecked
Variable namewhen Assign to variable is ticked

The variable's name. $push: adds to a list, and $$ keeps the variable in Databases.
